What you Need to Know About AeroPress

An AeroPress is a device that requires a short amount of brewing time before being pushed through a filter that is attached to the bottom of the machine. The AeroPress is unlike the French press due to the steeping time, although a similar plunging method is used. The high pressure of the AeroPress machine brews the specialty coffee similar to an espresso machine, resulting in the quick extraction time. Despite the short steeping time, the AeroPress results in a full bodied, thick cup of coffee with minimal acidity.

What You Will Need:

In order to brew an AeroPress cup of coffee, you will indeed need an AeroPress device. You will also need your favorite BLACK FUEL TRADING CO. direct trade specialty coffee (amounts will vary depending on the recipe you are using), a kettle for heating the water, a wooden spoon and a vessel to catch your brewed specialty coffee after being pressed through the device. A glass mug allows you to see what is going on but is not necessary. Brewing time takes anywhere from 40 seconds to three minutes.

Before You Begin:

An AeroPress allows the user maximum control of how the specialty direct trade coffee is brewed. You can make one to four servings with each brew. Water temperature is very important, which should be around 200 degrees Fahrenheit. Bring water to a boil then remove from heat for 30 to 45 seconds before you pour.
